Our Mission

The mission of Train of Thought is to support families and children by providing services through education, therapeutic intervention, and community involvement. We are committed to forming partnerships with families that empower their children to become confident, respectful, and capable individuals. We resolve to provide the foundation children need to begin their journey of life-long learning in a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Our Philosophy

Train of Thought strives to provide a quality Early Childhood Education Program filled with carefully chosen staff members who display love and compassion for children. We believe that children are our most important resource and that their early childhood experiences are crucial in the development of their future.

Each staff member strives to offer an environment that is high in quality and stimulates the child's senses and where warmth and friendship are abundant, to meet the needs of the total development of your child. The program we pursue is geared toward helping your child develop habits of observation, questioning and listening while building positive self-esteem. Our staff members are partners with our families and the community in working together to meet both the needs of the children and their families.

A Legacy of Learning

Long before Train of Thought STEAM Academy opened its doors, this campus was a place where children learned, discovered, and grew. For decades, this location served the Lancaster community as the home of a respected Montessori school, creating lasting memories for generations of children and families. We are honored to carry forward the legacy of a place that has been dedicated to early childhood education for so many years.

While Train of Thought STEAM Academy introduces a new vision centered around STEAM education, inclusion, innovation, and family partnerships, our commitment remains the same: providing children with a safe, nurturing environment where they can build confidence, develop a lifelong love of learning, and reach their fullest potential.

We recognize the educators and families who came before us and the important role this campus has played in our community. As we begin this exciting new chapter, we are proud to continue the tradition of making this a place where children are inspired to learn, explore, and thrive.

Jennifer Thomason

Founder & Executive Director

Jennifer Thomason is the Founder and Executive Director of Train of Thought STEAM Academy and the visionary behind Thomason Childcare Solutions. With years of experience in early childhood education, childcare operations, licensing compliance, and business development, Jennifer is passionate about creating programs where every child is valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Her leadership extends beyond the classroom. Jennifer has successfully developed and managed multiple childcare programs, specializing in program quality, staff development, operational excellence, and family partnerships. She believes exceptional childcare begins with exceptional educators and is committed to fostering a culture of professionalism, innovation, and continuous learning.

Jennifer's vision for Train of Thought STEAM Academy combines STEAM education, hands-on learning, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices to create an environment where children build confidence, curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

As a strong advocate for families and childcare providers, Jennifer also works to strengthen the childcare profession by supporting educators, developing high-quality systems, and building meaningful community partnerships that benefit children for generations to come.

Anthony Thomason

Co-Founder & Director of Operations

Anthony Thomason serves as the Co-Founder and Director of Operations for Train of Thought STEAM Academy, where he plays a vital role in creating a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. His leadership focuses on the day-to-day operations that help the academy run smoothly, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive in a secure, high-quality setting.

Anthony is passionate about building positive relationships with families and supporting a team culture centered on respect, accountability, and excellence. He works closely with staff to maintain safe learning environments, oversee facility operations, and implement systems that allow educators to focus on what matters most — helping children succeed.

Committed to continuous improvement, Anthony believes that strong operational leadership is the foundation of exceptional childcare. From maintaining safe facilities to supporting program growth and innovation, he is dedicated to ensuring every family experiences the high standards that define Train of Thought STEAM Academy.

Chauncy Smith

Co-Founder & Educational Consultant

Chauncy Smith is a Co-Founder of Train of Thought STEAM Academy and serves as an Educational Consultant, bringing years of educational leadership and experience to support the academy's mission of providing exceptional learning opportunities for every child.

Drawing from his work with Academy of Excellence, Chauncy collaborates with the leadership team to provide guidance on program development, educational best practices, and innovative learning experiences that strengthen the academy's commitment to high-quality early childhood and school-age education.

His expertise serves as an additional layer of support for both staff and leadership, helping ensure that Train of Thought STEAM Academy continues to grow while maintaining a strong focus on academic excellence, child development, and meaningful family partnerships.
